Sampson County NC seeks Animal Control Director 11/11/2012

Local observers have told me they believe the job description was written to fit Lori Baxter’s experience and that the decision to leave it off of the county’s website was to limit the number of applicants.

So with that in mind, please share this job opening far and wide among all the No Kill advocates you know.

  1. Hmmm…. seems the necessary experience mentioned of overriding importance, twice in fact, is “euthanasia”

Is it that “good” people don’t apply to shelter jobs, or is it that the county/city doesn’t hire them? I only wish the right people were hired instead of the sadist currently employed & past idiots who set their standards.

    • Given that No Kill is growing so quickly, the number of people who have experience with lifesaving sheltering is growing, too. Hopefully some of them will start applying for these director positions and bringing their can-do life-affirming attitudes with them.

I have a driver’s license, a high school diploma and 6 years experience working with dogs and a doggie daycare/boarding facility. Should I apply? Surely I could learn all the other crap. I wouldn’t need to know how to euthanize, I supervise in my job, and Iove all the animals. No, maybe I wouldn’t be too good at this job come to think of it!
